A definition of a 'Just War' - volunteering to invade a neighbouring country to liberate its and your fellow citizens from a foreign-backed murderous fascist regime run by actual Nazis, and to prevent an obvious planned invasion through the same route that 27 MILLION of your people died in the last time, just 3 generations ago and still in living memory.
A definition of an 'Unjust War' - being conscripted to fight for a fading Empire's geostrategic aims on the borderlands of the continent, FOR a fascist Nazi regime that openly espouses a racist ideology and worships WW2 Nazis ikons, and FOR a fascist domestic regime that has deliberately murdered 10s of thousands of its own elderly and disabled according to the UN, a de facto 2-party dictatorship that came to power upon a web of lies spun by offshored corporate media.
Stormer intends to put thousands of British Army volunteers into a death trap in order to blackmail Trump's America into "Helping" when Trump's America has already said "We won't, so don't". And yet it's CORBYN who got death threats from UK generals???
These people are clinically insane.
And all this was to steal more 'collateral' to pay for the financial sectors debts they rang up while wringing every last penny from the British public.
And soon they will grab private citizens bank account savings to pay for the "Re-armament" that will be nothing more than a gravy-train corruption drive.
Neoliberlalism is mainly negative, but one advantage is that it undermines the Nation State's ability to wage industrialised war.
I see the Ukraine flags in the UK again. This is very dangerous. The media with the BBC at the helm are parroting Starmer’s message, that Russia and Putin are the enemy who can’t be trusted over agreements.
The US, UK and NATO lost in Ukraine. Trump is merely formalising the surrender agreement and calling it ‘Peace’. If Harris had won, she would have had to do the same, though it would probably not have been a formal agreement ending the proxy war, rather a de facto one.
Trouble is Trump has riled up the EU to buy arms, from the US, to balance his trade deficit so that he can pivot to China. If we foolishly go into Ukraine and get slaughtered, under US manipulation (the EU is a puppet of the US, they only do what they’re told, including potentially vetoing the peace agreement at the UN and even accepting tariffs because of it) then Trump gets to both keep his cake and to eat it. He gets the nobel peace prize, MAGA support but also gets to continue to over-extend Russia by proxy, which he can pivot back to at any time (the West constantly reneges on agreements, look at Gaza).
"Noam Chomsky argues that the ‘Drill, baby, drill!’ mentality of the fanatically climate-denying US Republican Party, currently the US Government, makes it ‘the most dangerous organisation in human history’."
Is it not all the hypocrites gabbling at the COP extravaganzas the higher danger? BigOil is surely to blame for not having done its best to change direction - decades ago - concerning where our energy comes from. But now that we are here, too late, we must recognize that world governments are incapable even of honestly telling their citizens the necessities for reducing, or even stabilizing fossil fuel emissions, which surely would amount to significant rationing, the necessary level of which would surely collapse Capitalism itself. So what do we do? W. Texas oilman in the series "Landman" captured the essence of our dilemma, see my post here (with a killer video clip!)

"Good 'n' bad don't factor into this, Rebecca. Our great-grandparents built the world that runs on this shit right here. Until it starts runnin' on somethin' else, we gotta' feed it, or the world stops.
"Hey! There is an alternative: you can throw that phone away and trade that Mercedes in for a bicycle or a horse and start huntin' for your own food and livin' in a tent. But you'll be the only one, and it won't make a damn bit of difference. Plus I hear the moral high ground gets real windy at night."
There is no dichotomy between 'drill baby drill' republicans nor hypocrites at the COP nor big oill cartels themselves. They all work, or are part of, the US based interests known loosely as the deep state or BlackRock. They consist of interlinked share holders and agendas comprising of big fossil fuel, agrochemicals, pharma, animal ag (pharma's biggest client), arms and tech cartels.
It is a catch 22 sitch. If we all stopped eating animal products (thus stopping requiring so much pharma) or ceased using fossil fuels the 1% would be defuned, the stock market would crash, millions would lose jobs. Capitalism would collapse.
But it's that or have a habitable planet. The choice is ours.
Your point about one person making no difference is spurious. Lots of one persons make all the difference.
The only war this country is capable of fighting is against the disabled. I wouldn't give the steam off my piss for it.
